History

Dartford Golf Club was formed in 1897 by Charles James Morgan.

The Club is home to the Watson Trophy.  The Club Champions of Kent are invited to compete in early April for the title of Champion of Kent.

Dartford Golf Club is very proud of former Juniors who have represented England and Kent at the highest level.

Our former Juniors are now writing the new chapters of our history; please find listed some of the achievements to date.

 

ANNE WHEBLE

Ladies Kent champion in 2005, 2008 and 2009. Member of the England Elite Squad for under 21s. In 2011 Anne had represented represented the County of Kent for 20 consecutive years. Anne and proud Father Peter, won the Daily Express Mixed Foursomes, played at Mijas in Spain.

 

PAUL PAGE

Played for England at School Boy, Junior, Youth and Senior representative level. Watson Trophy Winner 1992.  In 1993 he was finalist in the English Amateur which was held at Portrush, losing out to Iain Pyman on the 37th hole played in horrendous conditions.That same year he represented Great Britain & Ireland in the Walker Cup,Picking up a point from Tiger Woods.

MICHAEL SAUNDERS

 

Turned to golf at 15 years old after being a successful county tennis player. Michael has won numerous county events at Junior, Youth and Men’s level becoming a scratch golfer in 2007. Michael is the Watson Trophy Winner for a record 4 times. His national achievements have included The Dubai Emirates Amateur Open Winner, Regional British Open Qualifying Winner, Lagonda Trophy Winner and Runner up.

Selected for the England Squad in 2013/14 seasons and was successful in the home internationals. Promoted to the England Elite Squad in 2015, played in the England v Spain and England v France internationals
